Ahsan Karim: My Journey as an Advocate of the Lahore High Court

I am Ahsan Karim, an Advocate of the High Court in Lahore, Pakistan, and this is my story—a tale of passion, perseverance, and a relentless drive to make a difference. My career spans law, education, media, social activism, and digital innovation, and I take pride in the diverse roles I’ve embraced over the years. My Personal Background

I was born on July 15, 1976, in the vibrant city of Lahore, Punjab, as the son of the late Professor Fazal Karim, whose intellectual legacy continues to inspire me. My late father served as professor of Physics in Govt Dayal Singh College Lahore, King Saud University Riyadh and Govt Islamia College Civil Lines Lahore. My CNIC (5202-1147964-7) ties me to this city, where I’ve lived my entire life at 342-D Shad Bagh, near the United Bank Limited (UBL) branch—my permanent and present address. In 2017, I married, and today, I’m a proud father to two wonderful children, Muhammad Hassan and Aima Batool. Balancing my family life with my multifaceted career has been a rewarding challenge, one that keeps me grounded & motivated.

 

My Educational Journey

My academic path has been both diverse and fulfilling. I began with Matriculation in Science, scoring 609 out of 850 marks and securing a First Division as a private candidate. This early success fueled my ambition. I then pursued Intermediate (FA), studying Civics, Islamic Studies, and History, and earned another First Division with 685 out of 1100 marks, again as a private student. My Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Government College University (GCU), Lahore, saw me graduate with a Second Division (449/800 marks), majoring in History and Journalism—subjects that shaped my love for writing and advocacy.

 

 

Law was a natural progression for me, so I enrolled at Punjab University Law College, earning my LLB with a Second Division and qualifying as a lawyer. Alongside this, I completed a four-year Diploma in Homeopathic Medical System (DHMS), reflecting my curiosity about alternative medicine. These qualifications have given me a unique blend of knowledge that I draw upon daily.

My Legal Practice

As an Advocate of the High Court, I’ve spent years honing my legal skills. From 2002 to 2022, I occasionally pleaded cases from my chamber (Room No. 227) at the District Court Lahore—a space I still hold in my name. Today, I practice law and serve as a tax consultant at Al-Faizan Tax Consultant, located at 15-A Shuja Building, Nabha Road, Lahore, near the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Regional Head Office. My expertise spans tax law, human rights, and general litigation, and I take pride in advocating for justice.

 

 

My Time in Banking

From 2012 to 2014, I worked as a General Banking Officer (GBO) at the National Bank of Pakistan, a role equivalent to a 16th-grade accountant. This experience sharpened my financial and administrative skills, which I now apply to my tax consultancy work.

 

 

My Role in Education

Education is close to my heart. I served as Principal of Arqum House of Education School from 2002 to 2012, and my involvement continued until 2022. Currently, I run the Study Solutions Academy in Shad Bagh, Lahore, where I blend my digital creativity with teaching to inspire students.

 

 

My Digital Ventures

I’ve always been fascinated by the digital world, and over the years, I’ve become a self-taught expert in creative content writing, WordPress web development, SEO (both on-page and off-page), video editing (using Filmora and Camtasia), and graphic designing (via Canva). I’ve built and managed several websites, including:

I’m also the editor and researcher for the SA Vlogs Family YouTube Channel where I’ve edited around 500 educational videos using Filmora. I’ve managed online campaigns for lawyer leaders during bar elections, using AI videos and graphic banners to boost their visibility—a skill I’m proud to offer to others looking to elevate their digital presence.

 

 

 My Advocacy for Human Rights

In 2004, I launched HR Times International, Pakistan’s first English-language monthly magazine dedicated to human rights, and served as its Chief Editor. I wrote impactful articles like *The Impact of Domestic Violence on Children*, *Trafficking of Women & Facts*, *The Predicament of Girl Child*, and *A Scourge of Child Labour*, among others. I also interviewed inspiring figures such as Nighat Saeed Khan, Justice (Retd.) Nasira Javeed Iqbal, Farkhanda Iqbal (Punjab’s first female SP), and Justice Shehram Sarwar. These efforts reflect my deep commitment to social justice.

 

 

My Work with NGOs

I’ve also served as Chief Coordinator of Bedar Pakistan, an NGO focused on innovative economic solutions for Pakistan. I organized numerous workshops and seminars for Bedar Pakistan and the Society for the Promotion of Human Rights (SPHR), amplifying my voice in the fight for change.
